“I am so thrilled with the subtle waves of awareness it is bringing to me. It feels like a gentle presence offering another perspective on life; a soft holding/guiding energy which allows me to come at situations from my heart rather than my head.“
Testimonial from Mags on Amanita Muscaria
Be patient when becoming someone you haven’t been before.
We often come to mushrooms looking for a moment. A shift. Something we can point to and say — “There… that’s when it happened.”
But in my experience, Amanita Muscaria rarely offers that. It’s not a mushroom of fireworks when we talk about micro or macrodosing. Not something you necessarily feel… not in the way you might expect.
It works differently. It’s slower. Quieter. More enigmatic.
And that’s part of its beauty — and its frustration.
Working with Amanita: A Different Kind of Medicine
I’ve been working with Amanita Muscaria for nearly five years now, and I still find it difficult to describe what it does. Or even whether “doing” is the right word. It’s more of a presence than an effect. A kind of rhythm that enters your system and gently reorders things.
Often, there’s no obvious change. No rush. No psychedelic visuals. Just a sense… a vague sense of feeling more yourself. A bit more steady. A bit more in tune.
And for many people — especially those who’ve tried microdosing psilocybin — this can be confusing. With psilocybin, there’s usually a noticeable shift — however subtle. Amanita doesn’t always offer that. Or if it does, it comes later. Or sideways.
Clients sometimes ask me, “Why isn’t it working?”
And the truth is… I don’t always know.
There are so many variables — past trauma, pharmaceutical history, relationship with other substances, diet, intention, readiness, even ancestry. Sometimes it’s simply not the right time. And sometimes it just doesn’t work — at least not in a way the person can feel.
It’s tempting to troubleshoot: change the dose, change the format, try again. But I tend to leave that to the individual. My role isn’t to fix. It’s to witness. To reflect. To listen.
Because I’ve come to believe this mushroom doesn’t respond to demand. It responds to honesty.
From Tea to Powder: A Personal Journey
In my own journey, I began with tea — more muscimol- preparation. Back then, I wasn’t microdosing. I was taking it in more light to macro doses, following a method I’d learned from Amanita Dreamer.
And it was clear… typically within minutes, I could feel a shift. Especially if I was anxious or ungrounded — Amanita brought calm. No ambiguity.
That was the gateway.
But about a year in, I was introduced to the idea of eating the dried mushroom… not just making tea — through a journaling course with Estonian Vadim Strutsenko. This was a fascinating deep exploration with ourselves in relationship with Amanita and a group of fellow travellers with Vadim holding beautiful space and guidance. It deepened my curiosity…
And for me, this was a turning point. I started noticing more emotional resilience. Motivation. A clear-headedness that helped me move through. Subtle…
You Can’t Put This Mushroom in a Box
Amanita seems to meet you where you are. And sometimes not where you want to be… but where you need to be.
There’s a kind of trickster energy here — one that’s widely reported in certain circles, and one I’ve definitely felt myself. It can be hilarious… disturbing… absurd. It plays with perception. With expectation.
You might think it’s not working, and then notice you’re acting differently. Or you might expect insight — and get silence. Sometimes it hands you exactly what you don’t want, just to show you something deeper underneath.
That’s the mystery.
And sometimes… that’s the medicine.

When It Doesn’t Work (Or Seems Like It Doesn’t)
Some clients genuinely feel nothing. Others might notice a shift weeks later, only in hindsight. And some never return to it at all.
That’s okay.
I sense there are more people out there who’ve had a “non-experience” than we realise. Many quietly stop. They’re busy. Life moves on. The mushroom didn’t do what they expected… so they let it go.
But I’d offer this: not all change is felt. And not all medicine announces itself.
Using Amanita in Times of Substance Struggle
I’ve had moments where I leaned on Amanita to rebalance my relationship with other substances. Whether it was cannabis, alcohol, or overstimulation in general — sometimes it helped. Grounded me. Brought me back to myself.
But other times… nothing.
And I think that’s part of the honesty this mushroom demands. If you’re trying to bypass discomfort — to avoid change while still wanting results — Amanita tends not to cooperate.
If your intention is to become a better person, but you’re not actually making the effort… Amanita may just hold the mirror.
It won’t rescue you. But it will walk beside you if you’re really ready.
I was in a constant fight to live. Anxiety, depression, emotional dysregulation, overthinking, overwhelmed… these were my labels and the list goes on. Not feeling pain was becoming an addiction and I noticed that wine helped me numb it. A Google search led me to a thing called microdosing, which led me to Amanita Muscaria, and then led me to SoulSync in Ireland. I’m forever grateful. I’m noticing a difference within me. I find myself crying, at times, not because I am sad, but because I feel so grateful. I find myself listening to my body. I have an internal motivation that I hadn’t felt in such a long time.
Testimonial from P. Ryan on discovering Amanita Muscaria
In this stillness, something essential emerges. This mushroom speaks clearest in silence. And so, creating a space each day to just be with yourself is highly recommended…for beginners, I’d go as far as to say non negotiable.
Five minutes of breathwork, a brief journal entry, or simply sitting in quiet observation.
These are the moments that become the tuning fork through which Amanita’s frequency can be felt. Without them, we risk missing the whisper beneath the noise: the subtle guidance, the realignment, the insight that doesn’t shout. Stillness is the medium through which the mushroom paints. It’s a practice that requires some discipline.
